How your budget works
Your budget refills a little every hour: your plan’s monthly amount, spread evenly over the 744 hours of a 31-day month. When it’s full it holds about 24 hours’ worth, so it doesn’t pile up while you’re away.
| Plan | A month | An hour | When full |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium at $10 | $10 | $0.013 | $0.32 |
| Premium at $30 | $30 | $0.04 | $0.97 |
Amounts an hour and when full are rounded.
At $10 a month, a full budget holds $0.32: roughly 30 to 300 replies at once, at 0.1¢ to 1¢ a reply, then a little more every hour.
Each reply is charged once it’s done, so a budget can dip below zero and refill from there. While yours is below zero, a session’s other sponsors cover you. When every sponsor’s is used up, Panorama waits, says when it expects to be back, and then reads everything sent meanwhile. Nobody is ever billed more than their plan. Settings → Account shows your budget.
What a reply costs
A reply costs what its requests to the AI model cost, plus a flat $0.0005, however many people it writes to. That includes replies Panorama takes on its own, like checking back later because you asked it to. A reply that fails partway still pays for the requests it made, and Panorama tries again.
Models are charged at cost: exactly what each request cost, as OpenRouter, which passes it to the model’s provider, reports it. There’s no markup on the model.
| Model | Reading | Writing |
|---|---|---|
| DeepSeek V4.1 Flash | $0.14 | $0.42 |
Per million tokens. A token is about three-quarters of a word. Prices are approximate: Panorama uses only providers that keep no data, their prices differ and change, and each reply is charged what its requests actually cost. Anyone in a session can change its model in Details.
| Reading 10,000 tokens at $0.14 per million | $0.0014 |
| Writing 500 tokens at $0.42 per million | $0.00021 |
| The flat fee | $0.0005 |
| This reply | $0.00211 |
|---|
A reply often makes several requests, each reading the session again, though providers charge much less for text they’ve just read. Panorama reads older history as summaries it writes hour by hour, so what a reply reads stops growing; writing them is charged at cost too.
In everyday sessions so far, a reply on DeepSeek V4.1 Flash has usually cost between 0.1¢ and 1¢, fee included. So Premium at $10 a month covers very roughly 1,000 to 10,000 replies over the month. That’s a rough guide, not a price.
Sessions with several people
What Panorama costs in a session is paid by its sponsors. Whoever starts a session sponsors it, and anyone with a budget can sponsor it too, from its Details. Sponsors share the cost in proportion to their amounts; everyone else pays nothing.
Say Sam on Premium at $10 starts a session, Kai on Premium at $30 sponsors it too, and Alex on Free joins. Of each reply, Kai pays three quarters and Sam a quarter, and Alex nothing. If Kai’s budget is used up, Kai sits that reply out and Sam pays all of it. If both are used up, or the session has no sponsor with a budget, Panorama waits.
Everyone in a session sees who sponsors it, and a ★ beside the name of anyone on Premium. Nobody else sees your amount, your budget, or what you’ve used.
Changing or cancelling
Once you’ve signed in, get Premium or change your amount in Settings → Account. A change takes effect right away: raising your amount charges the difference for the rest of this billing period now, and lowering it takes the difference off your next bills rather than refunding it to your card.
Your card, invoices, and cancelling are on Stripe’s billing page, which you open from Settings → Account. Premium renews every month until you cancel. If you cancel, Premium lasts until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then you’re on Free.
Questions
Can I end up paying more than my plan?
No. Premium costs the amount you chose each month, and Free costs nothing. When a budget runs out, Panorama waits instead of billing you more.
Does unused budget carry over?
No. A full budget stops refilling, and what you don’t use isn’t carried over or refunded. A budget is a limit on what Panorama spends for you, not a savings account.
Do I need Premium?
Not to join a session someone sponsors. To sponsor one, including the ones you start, yes: Panorama runs on its sponsor’s budget, and waits without one. Sponsoring a session has the details.
What if a payment fails?
Stripe tries again for a while, and Premium carries on meanwhile. If the payment still can’t be collected, your account goes back to Free.
What if I delete my account?
Deleting your account ends Premium at once, and the rest of the period you’ve paid for isn’t refunded.
What currency are prices in?
Prices are in US dollars.
